Meet Our Board Members
David Goldberg | Founder & Managing Partner
David Goldberg has been involved in real estate sales and marketing for over 40 years. He began in land sales for the first five years, moving into new home sales as an on-site sales agent for a long-time homebuilder in the San Fernando Valley. David then became Director of Sales for one of the oldest and most established homebuilding companies in the San Gabriel Valley. His new home sales experience ranges from entry level attached to luxury home communities.
David is a past Associate Publisher of Homes & Land Magazine and the Los Angeles Rental Guide Magazine, of which he was a Regional Sales Director for the corporate franchiser. He was also President of New Homes Direct, a targeted direct mail publication. David is a licensed California Real Estate Broker and a member of the Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM). He is a designated NAHB Instructor for the Certified Sales Professional (CSP) training courses.
Harvey Hopkins | Managing Partner
With 40 years of experience in the home builder market and the newspaper industry, Harvey Hopkins is a key member of the FOCUS Marketing Team. Harvey brings his experience and his energetic personality into each and every project at FOCUS Marketing, empowering his coworkers and clients.
Some of Harvey’s most notable positions include National Manager at the Long Beach Press-Telegram, Assistant Advertising Director with the Orange County Register and Advertising Director of the Ventura County Star. In both of these Director roles he supervised and had relationships with the primary customer base for the Automotive, Real Estate, Employment, Department Store and Super Market categories.
Taking an entrepreneurial venture in his career, he created a direct mail / target marketing company named New Homes Direct with distribution reaching as much as 1.5 million copies per month and annual sales approaching $2 million. It was in this venture where Harvey and David first teamed up. Harvey has helped FOCUS Marketing reach new customers, in new venues and markets all over the country. Harvey’s attention to detail is second to none when it comes to making sure his clients are treated well and all expectations are met and exceeded. Whether he is analyzing statistics from an email campaign, or planning a new demographic segment for a new client, you can bet that Harvey is busy working on the next big thing from FOCUS Marketing and its team of experts.
Thomas Hurley is an integral part of the FOCUS Marketing team, and brings over 15 years of internet and direct marketing experience to the team. Thomas’ partner company known as Hepcatsmarketing.com has built a strong technical partnership with FOCUS Marketing and its clients to bring the best technological advances in analytics, web tracking, ROI tracking, statistical monitoring, online data collection, compiling, aggregation and more.
From creative design, to complete landing pages and website implementation and development, Thom can help the FOCUS Marketing team handle any size project or client. Through Thom’s many years of experience working with email deployment technologies, as well as specific data techniques such as those deployed with the POLK Automotive programs and FOCUS Marketing’s advance psycho and demographic profiling systems Focus can forge the future for email and direct marketing.
Through test, experimentation, and implementation Thom leads FOCUS Marketing’s technology well beyond the competition and fuels the necessities of the clientele and partners that rely on for day-to-day marketing efforts and campaigns.
Joseph M. Bowman | Consultant Real Estate Services
Joseph M. Bowman offers over forty years experience in real estate development. His expertise provides asset management and real estate advisory services to investors, builders, and financial institutions in the acquisition, entitlement, development, financing, and disposition of properties. His services include serving as a court appointed receiver, and managing projects with development issues while litigation involving these projects runs it course.
Joseph was President of Wilma Pacific, Inc., a Southern California residential and industrial real estate development subsidiary of Wilma International of Antwerp, Belgium. He also held the dual position as interim President of Wilma U.S. based in Atlanta, Georgia, which was the financial holding company for all domestic operations of Wilma International.
Joseph was Vice President of Real Estate for The Prudential Insurance Co., and was responsible for the early development of the 4,700-acre North Ranch residential and golf community in Westlake Village, California and the re-planning and re-development of the 650-acre Kuilima Resort in Oahu, Hawaii. He was also a Vice President for American Hawaiian Land Company, first engaged as Corporate Counsel and later as Manager of Forward Planning for the early development phases of WestlakeVillage.
His career began as a transactional real estate attorney associated with Lawler, Felix & Hall of Los Angeles, immediately after graduating with honors from the Wharton School and the Law School at The University of Pennsylvania.
